- Dear Dad
Why pick to work with me? What separates Blake from the hundreds of intuitive mediums out in the world? What do I do in my practice that is uniquely specific to me? Let me share with you my core beliefs and how I like to run things:
My number priority is going to be my client. That doesn’t mean blowing smoke up their behinds and telling them what they want to hear or telling them things that may not be beneficial for their growth and development. I navigate the session with intuition to get the messages you need to hear for your greatest and highest good; helping them breakthrough whichever things that they may need assistance with and giving them the tools to bring healing and clarity.
Active listening is a huge component of my practice. Sometimes, or I should say the majority of the time people just need someone to listen to them instead of providing them with the answers – that’s why my father always said “that’s why God gave us two ears and one mouth.” Most times, its beneficial talk through situations with a sounding board; coming to realizations/conclusions ourselves all because you’re just talking it out. I’ve always resonated with Person Centered Therapy when studying various counselling theories in college; ultimately, its a practice by providing the person with a mirroring effect – providing empowerment, problem solving, self-reflection, etc. It reinforcing my belief system that intuitive mediums/advisors aren’t providing healing; although, we are labeled as healers; we’re ultimately facilitating the process, for which the person is doing the work themselves.
From my experience, its very tough to find individuality living in today’s society. There is always going to be some type of expectation – whether the textbooks says this or the textbook states this. As our society grows and evolves, it’s truly sad to say, but we are losing touch with human contact, empathy, individuality, holding space, etc. Specifically, in the spiritual community or practices, I’ve had several experiences where I’ve been ghosted, judged, ignored, and misunderstood because I led a different path then them and they couldn’t assist/support or understand my unique situation/life path. That’s totally okay, I’ve learned that it all comes down to communication and boundaries. We all come in and out of each others’ lives for various reasons. We learn from every person that we are connected with and sometimes there are certain situations where its out of scope of the relationship; resulting in finding what’s needed else where. That’s why I don’t believe in selling packages for sessions to clients because I feel like there isn’t a set timeframe for how long the partnership constantly resonates with each other; with both parties regularly learning, growing, and evolving.
That being said, I want to meet people where they are at. I don’t want to have a generic/preset program because we’ve already had enough with the “cookie cutter” method of doing things and I don’t know about you all, but I don’t think it’s working. By meeting people where they’re at allows the person to be in the drivers seat; importantly, allowing them to share as little or as much as they wish – setting the pace of how they wish to do things. With mentioning this aspect, I strongly believe in developing rapport when working with people; it’s about establishing true and meaningful relationships. This is why I like to offer a free 15 minute discovery call with me – allowing folks to ask any questions they may have about what I do and to see if I am the right fit for them. It’s not always about money. Just because I am an intuitive medium doesn’t mean I am going to resonate with everyone I come across, vice versa with those seeking spiritual advising.
It shouldn’t matter what your background, sexual orientation, etc. is, we are all here to learn and grow with our own personal and uniquely tailored life paths. We’re meant to learn and growth with each other. I’ve learned that perfection doesn’t exist and that everything is meant to happen as is – even as an intuitive doesn’t mean that I am any different; we’re all on an even playing field. We all mess up, make mistakes, do things that we wish we didn’t do – it’s called the human experience.
I tend to focus on what we learn on a daily basis from the experiences we are exposed to carrying out our lives. It’s how we perceive our experiences that make a different. Our experiences are meant to teach us things that are meant to help us grow and learn. Which brings me to this point: I believe that we are meant to reach and/or achieve “self-actualization,” based on the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory. In my opinion, it’s developing a strong sense of self-reliance for one’s self and detaching from external validations or assistance to ensure you’re living up to your authentic and fullest human potential across all scopes of being.
I hope you enjoyed this post – giving you an insider look into what I stand for as a spiritual advisor. Feel free to message me any time to ask questions or even to say hello! Thank you soooo much for taking the time to read this post to hear what I have to say.
Don’t forget: You Matter. Your Loved. Your Whole. You Are Unique.
Much Gratitude,
